Tours Conditions

Hiking tours allow you to enjoy the desert and its stunning landscapes in silence and at your own pace. You will feel like a real Bedouin wandering from place to place.

The trips start and end officially at the Visitors’ Centre, where you pay your entrance fee and collect any brochures and maps that you wish. SInce this is about 6 kms from the village of Wadi Rum we can also drop you off at the Rest House in the village, which is well known to taxi drivers and where buses will usually pick you up. There is a car park immediately beside the Resthouse and any cars left there are in perfect security. If you wish to return to the Visitors Centre we drive you there as well of course.

The prices include all meals, jeep transfers when stated and equipment for sleeping in the desert. If you’d like to spend the night in the desert – in the camp, in a cave or under the stars – we provide mattresses, blankets and pillows, but you should bring your own towels. There is no real need for you to bring sleeping bags but some people prefer to use their own ones. Concerning the means of payment we would like you to know that we do not ask for deposits and we are not set up to take credit cards, but would ask for payment in cash (Jordanian Dinars) when you are here. Please consider that there are no banks or ATM machines in the village of Wadi Rum! The prices don’t include the entrance fee into Wadi Rum which is 5 JD/person. We provide you with mineral water over the whole day and the water at the camp which comes from the aquifer in Dissieh is very pure and you can use it for washing yourself and brushing your teeth.

We usually start off at 9.30 am and we ask you to be here between 9.00 and 9.15 am to be able to check into the Visitors Centre first. If you arrive with the early bus from Petra, it would be the easiest to meet you at the Rest House in Wadi Rum at 9.30 am. While you wait you can sit at the Rest House, perhaps have breakfast or stroll around nearby. Please be so kind and let us know if you will be late, and depending on the case we might have to charge you the private tour surcharge because of losses.

How to book: Feel free to contact with us, where you can find some information and send us a message. You can send us an email as well. Please let us know your name, the number of people, how you will be coming to Wadi Rum, from where and at what time you plan to arrive. Your nationality is important as well, because the Visitors Centre will ask for that.

Nights are usually spent in our private camp, which is about 13 km from Rum Village. There are toilets to sit down and showers with cold and hot water. You can sleep inside the tent, just outside or a bit further away on the dune “under the stars”, just as you wish. There are plenty of corners for some privacy. We also offer a night in a cave, which is just a 5 minute walk away from the camp.

End of the tour: After a night in the desert, we bring you back to the village at around 8 am the next day or earlier if you wish. Trips lasting two or more days will usually end at about 4 pm on the last day. Day trips will also end around 4 pm. At this time we take you either to the camp for the night or back to the village, depending on the tour you are doing.

If you are looking for a great tour in our beautiful desert Wadi Rum, there are a number of possibilities that can be added on to any of the other trips. Look as well for our one day tours, two day programs and three and more day programs. If you are traveling alone please send us a message and we will try our best to find a tour you can join to reduce the costs and make it as comfortable for you as possible.
